Robbing Hell

an original screenplay

by Randy Cook

Genre: Action/Thriller

Think "The Town" meets "Drive Angry"

Logline: Four high-tech bank robbers with demonic powers decide to steal their souls back from Satan.

Synopsis: "Robbing Hell" is a story about four men who think they have nothing to lose until they lose their souls.

Four Vietnam vets return from the war and pick up their lives where they left off: robbing banks. Using their training and experience from the war, they are much more effective and are initially successful in several heists. Then they hit a bank which turns out to contain a large vault where Satan stores the souls of people who've "made a deal with the Devil". The souls are stored and guarded by Satan's Dark Angels until the "customer" dies and Satan can take possession.

The heist doesn't go as planned for the vets.

As punishment, the four are recruited into Satan's organization on Earth. No longer aging, no longer human, but not exactly demon either, the four are now known to law enforcement agencies around the world as "The Lucifer Crew". Using their demonic powers, they now do for Satan, what they used to do for themselves: They rob banks. After 40 years of this life, lives without souls, lives spent in a never ending cycle of planning and executing one heist after another, The Lucifer Crew makes a decision. It's time for one last score. It's time to steal back their souls!

In the exciting climax of the story, the Lucifer Crew leads an all-out assault on the Vault of the Damned. However, the assault is only a ruse. Knowing they would be unable to reclaim their souls against the army of Dark Angels, they use the attack as a cover for wiping out the computer records which link each soul to it's rightful owner. With no way of claiming the correct soul when their client dies, Satan is forced to free all the souls and start over. Now, their souls restored, the crew decides to enjoy life for awhile before considering Satan's new offer of employment.
