DamageControl

Damage Control

an original screenplay

by Randy Cook

Genre: Action/Comedy

Think "X-Men:First Class" meets "Willy Wonka"

Logline: A young prankster is recruited by a crazy ex-Hippie into a group of teenage time-travelling saboteurs.

Synopsis: Ever wonder why we stopped going to the moon? Or why nobody never invented an anti-gravity device? Or why the Hadron SuperCollider keeps failing? Probably not. Neither did Fergus Fitzpatrick.

But you can blame it on the teenage team of interdimensional, time-traveling saboteurs called "Damage Control". Their motto: When something goes wrong, we break it!

Just before Fergus’ latest prank on a rival high school was about to go horribly wrong, time freezes and he meets the leader of Damage Control, the most amazing and most insane man he’s ever met: Arnie Haney.

Arnie was a wannabe militant hippie in the 70's who was in the wrong place at the right time. He could best be described as part Willy Wonka, part over-caffeinated chimp with a nail gun. Arnie was recruited by an alien race called The Krell to put together a team which will make sure mankind doesn't invent something before they're ready for it. Fergus is his latest reluctant recruit.
The team consists of Hanif, a brilliant computer hacker; Doddy, a sly pickpocket and Mora, a deadly Shadow Walker from another world.

Fergus joins them to screw up a demonstration of the first working time-machine.
However Fergus' excitement over the success of his first mission is short-lived. When they return to their base they discover the Krell have been wiped out by their rivals, the Chronos Protectorate. The leader of the Protectorate, Alpha Dumont, has a simple goal: to rule all of space and time.
With an army of 10 billion behind him and the Krell eliminated, there's nothing in his way. Except for Damage Control!

Arnie leads his team on a desperate race through time and space from the Protectorate's hit squad. Finally, using the time-travel device they were sent to sabotage, they return to the Krell homeworld and confront Alpha Dumont.

Fergus engages Dumont's champion, General Wilburn of the Union Army, in a duel with Civil War cannons! It's all part of Arnie's plan to distract Alpha Dumont long enough for Arnie to arrange for Dumont's army to be attacked by an even more powerful one. Dumont's army is destroyed, but so is the Krell base.

Escaping in a Krell spaceship, first recovered in Roswell in '47, Damage Control decide not to return to their former lives, but continue doing the work of the Krell. They are now the only thing keeping the time-line straight in their own bent way. When something goes wrong, they break it!
