Blood Runs Cold

an original screenplay

by Randy Cook

Genre: Action

Think "Warrior" meets "Taken"

Logline: A disgraced ex-cop is forced to reunite with his hero cop father to find his sister before she's consumed by a black-market organ trafficking ring.

Synopsis: It's not easy being the son of a legend. Mick Cleary didn't handle being the son of Captain "Zeus" Cleary of the NYPD very well. He tried being a cop, it didn't work out. When he found out a fellow officer sold his sister Terry heroin, he didn't act like a cop and ended up killing the man.

Now he's an ex-cop and ex-prison inmate, his sister is a junkie and Mick Cleary hasn't spoken to his father in years. At least until the night he hears the words he never thought he'd hear his father say:

I need your help.

Mick's sister has left rehab and disappeared. Capt. Cleary is asking his son to help him search the places even a tough NYPD cop won't go without backup. The kinds of places Mick knows all too well.

But while the father and son are fighting their way through the dark alleys of the city, as well as each other, they don't realize Terry never left rehab. Her "escape" was just a ruse. The prestigious Grady Rehabilitation Center is just a front for an international organ harvesting ring and Terry is the unfortunate genetic match for their next client.

Running from the police and chasing one clue after another, Mick and Capt. Cleary slowly put the pieces together. However, Terry turns out to be an unsuitable organ donor, so the men at Grady Rehab decide to use the next best thing: her closest family members.

Now, Mick and Capt. Cleary are both the hunted and the hunters as they close in on the men responsible for hundreds of missing persons over the years. In a explosive climax, Mick and Capt. Cleary storm the Grady Rehab Center, saving Terry and dozens of others.
